How to make a song that sounds like a reference track

Give the chat a reference (a file, a YouTube link or a track in your library) and say what the new song is about. The reference shapes the sound and the mix; it is never a cover.

Studio: a reference is part of an AI song request.

What it looks like in the chat

The audioworker chat after the message “Make it feel like this track, but it’s about my hometown.”: Back Roads Home is ready: the same warm, wide sound as your reference, with new words about your hometown. Step by step

  1. Say “make a song like this” and attach the file, paste the link, or name a track in your library.
  2. Answer one question: AI words, your own words, or instrumental.
  3. Tick the reference rights box, then confirm the price.

Say it your way

  • Make it feel like this track, but it’s about my hometown.

  • A song in the style of the file I attached, instrumental.

  • Use my track Harbor Glass as a reference, with new lyrics.

Good to know

A reference shapes the tone, the instruments and the mix of the new song. It does not copy the melody or the words, so the song you get is new. If you want the same song sung again, that is not what a reference does.

A YouTube reference is fetched first, which takes a minute or two; the chat shows its progress. A link that cannot be fetched gets an offer to upload the file instead.
