Mix, edit and finish

How to mix a song by chatting

Say what you want to hear, like “vocals up a little, drums down”. The player changes the mix while the song plays, and every change is saved with the track.

Free: mixing works on every plan.

What it looks like in the chat

The audioworker chat after the message “Vocals up a little, drums down, bass only on the left.”: Vocals are up to 125 percent, drums down to 80, and the bass plays from the left speaker only. Step by step

  1. Split the song, or open one from your library.
  2. Play it and say what to change, in your own words.
  3. Adjust by hand too: each stem has a volume, mute, solo and speaker control.
  4. Download the mix when it sounds right.

Say it your way

  • Vocals up a little, drums down, bass only on the left.

  • Turn the other stem down in the verses.

  • Mute everything except the vocals and the bass.

Good to know

Each stem goes from silent up to 150 percent, can be muted or soloed, and can play from the left speaker, the right speaker or both. The mix is saved with the track, so a refresh or another chat keeps it.

You do not need the right term. “The singer is buried”, “too much bass” or “the drums are too loud” are all fine; the chat turns them into levels, mutes or EQ and tells you what it changed. The guitars, keys and everything else that is not voice, drums or bass share the other stem.
