Mix, edit and finish

How to cut or fade out part of a song

Say the edit: “cut the intro”, “fade the vocals out at the end” or “mute the drums for the first verse”. It plays at once, can be undone, and rides every download.

Free: edits work on every plan.

The audioworker chat after the message “Cut the intro.”: The intro, 0:00 to 0:14, is cut on every stem, so the song now starts on the first verse. Say “undo” to bring it back. Step by step

  1. Play the track in the chat.
  2. Name the edit and the part: cut, move, mute, fade in or fade out.
  3. Listen, then undo or adjust if it is not right.
  4. Download the mix with the edits in it.

Say it your way

  • Cut the intro.

  • Fade the vocals out over the last 10 seconds.

  • Move the chorus to the start.

Good to know

A fade follows the sound, not the silence: “fade the vocals in” starts where the singing starts. Cuts and moves can apply to every stem or just one, and undo takes them back.

Your stems themselves never change. The edits are kept with the track and rendered into every download of the mix. Only if you ask to bake an arrangement in are the stems rewritten.
