How to get an a cappella from a song

Split the song and ask for “only the voice”. The vocals play on their own, and the vocal stem downloads as a WAV or an MP3 for a remix, a mash-up or practice.

Free: 20 splits a day. Studio: HD splits and vocal clean-up.

Good to know

An a cappella is the vocal stem soloed. Because every stem stays in time with the others, the voice lines up with the original song, which is what you want for a remix over a new beat.

Separation is very good, but a busy mix can leave faint traces of other instruments in the vocal stem. On Studio, an HD split gives the cleanest result, and a clean-up pass can reduce noise or room echo on the voice.
