How to slow down a song without changing the pitch

Use the Speed menu in the player, from half speed (0.5×) up to 1.2×. The song plays slower or faster at the same pitch, so you learn the real notes.

Free: speed, loops and key on every plan.

What it looks like in the chat

The audioworker chat after the message “Loop the solo so I can practise it slowly.”: The solo is looping, 1:52 to 2:08. Set the Speed menu to 0.75× or 0.5× and it plays slower at the same pitch. Step by step

  1. Bring the song to the chat and let it load in the player.
  2. Open the Speed menu next to the time and pick 0.75× or 0.5×.
  3. Ask the chat to loop the part you are learning.
  4. Step the speed back up, 0.9× then 1×, as it gets clean.

Say it your way

  • Loop the solo so I can practise it slowly.

  • Loop the fast run in the bridge.

  • Mute the other stem so I can play the guitar solo myself.

Good to know

Speed and key are separate controls. Slowing down keeps every note where it was, so you learn the real pitches, not a lower copy. If you also want a different key, change it on its own.

Working in steps is the usual way to learn a hard passage: half speed until it is clean, then 0.75×, then 0.9×, then full speed. A loop around the passage, set by asking, saves you from seeking back each time.

Plan Free: speed, loops and key on every plan.

Try it on your own song.
